Energetic support
28 BLACK is the new premium partner of Basketball Löwen Braunschweig
Luxembourg/Braunschweig, August 28, 2023
Basketball Löwen Braunschweig is entering the upcoming easyCredit BBL season with a new partnership that will ignite fresh energy in all areas: the energy drink 28 BLACK from the internationally active Splendid Drinks AG is now a premium partner of the Braunschweig basketball Bundesliga club and will advertise with the 28 BLACK logo on the Basketball Löwen's jersey shorts. The sponsorship commitment is initially valid for three years.
“We are delighted to have the support of 28 BLACK and Splendid Drinks, which is also a vote of confidence in our strategic direction. Our new partner is a modern, internationally ambitious company that moves with the times and, like us, appeals to a young target group. What's more, nothing works in sport without energy - that's something we also have in common. Our talks so far have therefore been very pleasant and we are looking forward to our future collaboration, which is not only evident from the presence of the logo on the jerseys,” says Löwen Managing Director Nils Mittmann.
On the one hand, the partnership will be highlighted at home games in the Volkswagen Hall with additional advertising space on the baseline and on the LED boards. On the other hand, 28 BLACK will receive far-reaching activation measures, for example in the form of joint promotions or advertising campaigns.
“Promoting Basketball Lions Braunschweig with 28 BLACK and making a strong joint appearance means a lot to us. The Basketball Lions are not only a successful sports club, but also a committed social player with forward-looking ideas. We are proud that we are promoting strong partnerships with our energy drink brand this year, both with Dennis Schröder and now with the Basketball Lions,” says Wolfgang Thiel, member of the Board of Directors of Splendid Drinks AG, explaining the reasons for the partnership.
About the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig
Basketball Löwen Braunschweig has been an integral part of the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga - the highest German basketball league - since 1991. The Löwen's credo is #jungwildhungrig. Under shareholder and NBA player Dennis Schröder and Managing Director Nils Mittmann, the club focuses strongly on the development of young and talented players and has been one of the youngest BBL teams in recent seasons. The club's philosophy has already borne fruit in a short space of time: In addition to reaching the MagentaSport BBL Cup TOP FOUR, which took place in February 2022, the Lions have had more than 15 international players in their ranks over the past three years. The German players in particular have earned their way into the men's national team by taking on greater responsibility and leadership roles at the Bundesliga club in Braunschweig. Those responsible for the Lions are persevering in their chosen path: In the coming season, only two players on the professional team are older than 25, and seven of them are also national players.
